The play "Foc i Fum" announces the upcoming festivities of Sant Joan
The awaited fiestas of Ciutadella are about to start.
On June 19, 20 and 21 in the hall of the school Sant Francesc de Sales (Calós) there will be the performances of the light operetta "Foc i Fum" (1885). This popular lyrical work by Francesc d'Assís de Rosselló i Sintes (1828-1898) with text by Joan Benejam i Vives (1846-1922) is performed once again for the festivity of Sant Joan. The play describes a love triangle, in the fiestas, between Na Francina, daughter of a family of peasants, En Rafel, her boyfriend and En Bartolomeu de Son Ticaque, who, thanks to a seller of hazelnuts, En Toni, manages to conquer young Francina.
This year the stage direction is by Miquel Fullana and the musical direction by Miquel Bauçà. There will be performance on Friday 19th (22:00 h), Saturday 20th (22:00 h) and Sunday 21st (11:00 h).
