Fornells celebrates the fiestas for Sant Antoni

The horses and the music will be the protagonists.

The calendar of summer fiestas continues its course. Once finished the fiestas of Ciutadella and of Es Mercadal, this week the horses reach Fornells, with the fiestas for Sant Antoni.

The fiestas for Sant Antoni in Fornells began on July 9, but most of the activities will take place during the weekend. On Friday 21, as from 9 p.m. there will be a street dinner, followed by a concert by Agrupació Musical Inquera and an open dance with music by Oasis and Versions.

On Saturday 22, following the official protocol, the traditional events will begin at 4.30 p.m. with a street parade and the grouping of the "qualcada" (group of horse riders). At 7 p.m., there will be a mass in the parish church and the awaited "Jaleo" will begin in the square. The day will end with a refreshment for the "Caixers" (horse riders) and with an open dance animated by the music groups Versions and Guateke.

The day after, Sunday 23, the events will begin at 9 a.m. with the "Diana Florejada" and, following the same order as the day before, the "qualcada", the mass and the "jaleo" will take place. At night there will be a concert by the traditional music and dance school from Sant Lluís, Havana songs by Maregassa and an open dance with music by Trio Oasis and Sarau.

The fiestas will continue until Monday 24, with regattas, children's games, a sea-firework display and music by Guateke and Sarau.

The full programme is available in PDF format.
